    I guess it depends what your focus is. If it relates to the odds of transmitting herpes during labor then the answer has to be yes. That said, the risk of transmission may be fairly low, but this will depend on your own history of the herpes virus. The cesarian itself is not without its own risks of course, and whilst they may be low, this should be taken into account in any decision making.

There are two types of HSV, HSV type 1 and 2, and both can cause genital herpes.
