Hi, my is reds and my situation is some what the same as your friend, I just found out two days ago that I have herpes and I have been with my finacee for 11 years and have 4 children when I found out I did not blame him because 13-14 years ago I was in a relationship with a person that had it. I was not aware until we broke up and I never had any symstoms or any thing. So to the answer to your friend question yes herpes and hiv can be dormant for years in a person's body and they may not never no until years later like me. Also, tell your friend not to give up and if her husband is willing to stick with her no matter what because both of them need each other support trust me I am going through the same thing!
