i am eighteen years old, and i found out yesterday morning that i had herpes. I am very stressed out right now, and emotionally unstable about the situation. I have lots of questions about the type of sex life i can have from here on out. I am concerned about if i have herpes below the waist if i perform oral sex if i can get it in my mouth, or if i can ever have sex without a condom when i dont have an outbreak?

I think the best thing for me that calmed my nerves when i found out i had hsv was talking to the doctor and asking her all my questions. the doctors can give you more correct information and helpful tips. it might be embarrassing, but you just have to get over that and realize that your gyno is there for you and she probably deals with worse things than this and that she's not going to make fun of you or embarrass you. She's (or he) is there to help you. *most of the time* and one of the other things you have to get into your mind is that you can't believe everything you read on the internet. Talk to the doctor and get the facts.
