I was just diagnosed with Genital Herpes on Friday. I originally thought I had a yeast infection, because my symptoms were VERY similar to a preivious yeast infection I had. I already know I got the virus from my current boyfriend, because his ex-girlfriend had Herpes. I've always been very cautious of STDs and STIs, I've been tested after every different partner. After my boyfriend found out his EX had it, he was blood tested imediately. And then blood tested 2 months later to make sure the virus wasn't hiding. Neither of us knew that a blood test wasn't an accurate way to test for Herpes. The clinic he went to didn't inform him of this, they told him that the most accurate way to test for herpes was through a blood test. Apparently, that's entirley incorrect if you have never had a visable outbreak. We both thought he was good to go, so we've had sex numberous times without a condom(I'm on birth control). When my syptoms got unbearly painful, I made a doctors appointment...I was checked out and then imediately told it was herpes. I'm currently taking Acyclovir 400mg and was also prescribed a gel to help with the pain. My boyfriend has never had a single outbreak or any symptoms at all. Yet I have every sypmtom and a horrible outbreak. I was told it has a lot to do with lifestyle, immune system and stress level. I don't blame my boyfriend at all, I trust him completely and love him so much. I know that he would never do anything to harm me. When I told him the doctor told me it was herpes....he started to cry(first time I had ever seen him cry....ever) and appologized profusely. He's actually taking it worse then I am. I'm okay with it....I'm not gonna lie...I did almost cry when the doctor told me. But I'm fine now, I've been doing my research and trying to find out the best way to go about this. What foods are good/what foods should be avoided, what natural supplements can help, and so on. I just wanted to share my story with people who would understand what I'm going through. If anyone has any tips that would help me, I'd be very grateful to take them.

Absolutely, My story its too long to write. I was diagnosed with herpes a year ago. Due to my age (35) , and unbalanced hormones, heat in my body, stress level etc.. I get outbrakes right before my period. I have tried a lot of different things. I was on valtrex for 10 months suppressive, I was on Lyrica for nerve pain due to herpes. I also suffer from yeast infections and I can relate to you. I take various supplements. My diet has already been completely changed. I only eat vegetables, fruits, organic meats and fish, beans, potatos, beets. I avoid all nuts and seeds, coffee, or any other beverage with caffeine such as black tea, green tea, mate. I don't eat sweets, desserts or chocolate. I don't eat icecream of processed foods. I can only eat whole wheat bread. No multigrain at all. I only use honey if I must. My new regimen dictates hatha yoga 5 times a week to reduce stress and anxiety. Currently I will be starting a new homeopathic treatment. I am under treatment with christopher scipio who has two herpes clinics in vancouver, Canada. I live on the East coast, so he will be mailing me my herbs and remedies. They should arrive in a couple of days. My best advice will be to read christopher scipio's book. Its called "making peace with herpes". In his book he highlights what to do to as far as diet, lifestyle, etc... I tell you this from the bottom of my heart. My situation its a lot more serious and difficult to manage, because I also have a neurological condition due to herpes. Its called post-herpetic neuralgia. Its a neuropathy or intense chronic pain on the nerves in my vagina and rectum due to inflammed nerves during and worst of all after outbrakes are gone. Anyways, take it from me. I tried accupuncture 2 twice a week for 6 months. It manages the pain, but mr. scipio told me not to go anymore because the same nerves that it relaxed, also get excited first and that's a catch 22. I ve been taking chinese herbs for 6 months. I decided to start my treatment with mr. scipio because of the frequency of my outbrakes even while on valtrex 1000 milligrams a day. Valtrex its valacyclovir. I am being as truthful as I possibly can. I hope my post will help many, many people. Mr. Scipio has herpes himself and has had it since he was 25. He is now 45 I think. At this point, I feel this homeopathic treatment its my way to go. Please feel free to e mail me or send me any messages at this site. I love to help as much as I can.
