Transmission through manual stimulation?

My sexual partner (until recently) was diagnosed with herpes about 1-2 months ago. He had active lesions, but they're now cleared up due to taking medication.

During a recent visit, he put his hand on his penis, and then stuck two fingers part way in my vagina. I'm not sure if he used the same hand he had on his penis. Is it possible to transmit HSV2 this way? With skin contact (no lesions) to my vagina?

We did not have sex.

I was just tested (blood test) and was found to be negative for HSV2 in my system, but positive for HSV1--even though I have no cold sores. My blood test was taken before my former partner did this. Should I wait maybe a couple of weeks and then get re-tested because of this incident?

Dear felicityfan:

I have forwarded your inquiry on to a more knowledgeable expert. In the meantime, you might find more generalized assistance in this link, http://www.healthcentral.com/genital-herpes/introduction-000052_3-145.html, regarding the possible modes of herpes transmission.

I hope this is helpful.

It is possible, but not "must". Further test is neccessary. http://www.positivesingles.com/blog/hgirlemily
