About Me

I'm a 24 year old engineer. I have a great job, an even better family, and an overall positive outlook on life. I was very recently diagnosed with genital herpes. I'm having a really hard time accepting it. I'm not in denial, but I'm in disbelief. I never saw myself in this place, but then again, who does. Now that I'm here, I want to make the best of it. I want to learn all that I can, from research and other people's experiences. Find out what makes me feel better, what helps me learn to survive with this disease, so my life doesn't have to change drastically, so I can be happy and feel like I'm worth something again, and so that in the future, maybe I can help someone like me get through this. I have big plans for my future and want to try my best to keep herpes from preventing me from acheiving them. I refuse to let this disease change me for the worse, I refuse to let it kill the person I am, even though I know I will be a sorry version of myself until I figure it all out.
