Newly Diagnosed and Losing It

By SomeHearts Friday, December 25, 2009

A couple of weeks ago I was diagnosed with genital hsv-1.  I am now freaking out.  I feel like no man will ever want to be near me again.  I feel like a freak of nature.  I haven't had sex since I was a teenager back in the 90s, since then I've returned to my religious roots and have been waiting till I get married, however, I now feel like I'm an untouchable.  I'm not really sure how I contracted it either.  I only had sex a couple of times back then and I know that that's all it takes but I didn't have my first outbreak till many, many years later.  During those years, however, I lived with a family member who was very sexually active and we shared everything, toilets, bar soap, etc.  I actually lived with them prior to the first outbreak, so which source did it come from?  If you've been though this and have come out on the other side, please advise me now.

Actually, genital herpes is a sexually transmitted virus and toilet seat transmission is the most common myth.
Herpes is very fragile when exposed to air (a couple of seconds) and it dies very quickly.
Myself I have HPV and Herpes, and can tell you that having them is not the end of your life. Relatives over Xmas, that's a disaster!
Really. Calm down. There are millions of people who have genital herpes and nobody has died yet from it.
I think you need support of people with the same problems and I sincerely advice you to join a dating community www.stidatingclub.com  There are thousands of people with herpes and they are singlesLaughing.
