Just a little tired of H!!!

I have just been sitting here talking with childhood friends tonight because i missed my highschool reunion because of my job with the military. Its confusing when they ask why im not married or have no kids yet. One girl wanted to take a trip to meet me but i declined because i didnt want to have to explain and have her mouth it to the people in my home town. I really want to meet the right girl but am really confused on how to do it with H. If there is anyone out there with advice that has been through this, please let me know how you over came this stuff.
