feeling ignorant and want to learn

By learning Thursday, August 09, 2007

Hi,

I have a friend who was told she has genital herpes from a blood test she took, she went to a planned parent hood facility 2 see a GYNO and was told that you can not tell if you indeed have herpes from a blood test, now I have no clue why and my friend doesnt either, at least i dont think so cuz she couldnt tell me when i asked why, so i am confused about that, then the doctor told her she just had a infection and umm i really dont remember what else but that she didnt have herpes. Needless to say when she went back to the DR that did the blood test on her she told him he was wrong and that they told her that she didnt have it, he then proceeded to take out her blood results and told her that she did have it and apperently another doctor saw her blood results and said the same thing, she does have it. I dont know what to tell her or how to help her. Most of her friends turned out to NOT be her friends after all when she find out she has this and as for me, well, i want to learn more so i can help her or at least calm her a little bit, she freaks out when i want to use her washroom, wont let me share chips from the same bag and she doesnt even let me kiss her on the cheak anymore. I have read many articles on how to keep from getting it but they all say the same thing, abstinence and makeing sure they are not having outbreaks but nothing about what i have mentioned my friend freaks out about. I would apreciate any help.

                            Thank you so much
