hi. I'm 16 years old and was just officially diagnosed with genital herpes about 10 min ago. This was my first time being intimate with a partner and I'm devastated. My boyfriend went and got tested when i told him too and he hasn't gotten the results back yet but doesn't have any symptoms. I don't know how to even comprehend how my life is going to change because of this. Any advice or just maybe some cheering up will help.

If he is the 1st u were intimate with then you got it from him. U r at an age where your emotions r vulnerable because of the newness of your experiences. Mystery and the raging of your hormones take you places where you should not go. It is hard to make good choices at 16. We want to prove we r adults at that age but as we get older we look back with regret at our quick misguided decisions. Our parents, if they haven't been corrupted themselves, have the better advise.....often because they secretly look back at there own mistakes and don't want us to relive their dead end life. If your parents r encouraging u to make mistakes against your own body you need to get your advise directly from where they should have.
