Hey all,
I guess I'm just looking for a couple of opinions before I go and see the doctor. I was diagnosed with HSV1 about 3 months ago, and haven't had an outbreak since my initial one. I've noticed a couple of red bumps on my genitals, but they aren't sore or itchy. I'm also not experiencing any other symptoms from my initial outbreak. The bumps have been there for a while, and haven't changed. I don't know if its scarring from the first time, or what. I guess I really just want to know if I should be taking my medication because I'm on the kind where I just take it when I think I'm starting to have an outbreak.
Anybody gone through anything similar? Lemme know, thanks :)

Hi Ducky my name is Camilo and I am monitoring this Sharepost Community. I am not a healthcare practitioner and thus I cannot offer you any professional advice. However, I can direct you to some parts of our site that you may find helpful for informing yourself, particularly for your upcoming appointment with an infectious disease specialist and receipt of your test results. Correct me if I am wrong, but from your post, it appears that you are unsure if the red bumps you are experiencing are significant of an upcomimg herpes outbreak? Dr. Grayson, wrote a great article called: What are the Symptoms of Herpes and When Should You Expect Them? I think you would definitely benefit from reading this article. In case you still have some confusion regarding the symptoms of herpes we also have a bit more technical herpes symptom resource. Finally there is another article that addresses conditions that may be similar to herpes--Is it herpes or something else? I hope I was of some help. Also don't forget to consult your physician before adopting any new knowledge into practice.
