You just want to get tested.  Even if you don't have symptoms, a test for the virus will help calm you down, and if you do have symptoms your doctor can put you on medications to make your outbreak less severe.

I just found out I had it a few days ago, and honestly it's not that big of a deal.  My bumps are already gone and I'm reentering the dating scene.

Best of luck.

Definately go and get tested, talk to your doctor and explain the situation, don't think your alone because your not, its not the end of the world, dont panic, i was with my ex for 6 years having unprotected sex, one night after having sex he looks down and says "öh i've got a sore", he never told me before and i did ask him in the begining if he had anything, i even asked if he would get tested, he told me he had been tested and that he didn't have any thing, it took 6 years of unprotected sex, within 7 days of comming in direct contact i was diagnosed on my first out break. but it took 6 years of near contact and i was tested yearly because of my job, each year i tested negative, you may to, but there is only one way to know, go and get tested.

if you are positive there are plenty of support groups, and remember that it is only a virus, not a disease.

Best of luck, blessed be.

oh also understand that condoms dont always protect you from contracting herpes, herpes infects the entire groin area so if any one calls you a fool you for not using one ect ect, you know they have no idea about what they're talking about, if you need to know more about it, do some research, condoms are still a very good idea, so are antivirals which can help prevent people from having outbreaks, do some research, talk to your doctor, get the facts, know where you stand, its best to face it quickly rather than dwell on it.

I did leave the man who gave it to me and started a new life with a wonderful man and he has not contracted it from me in 8 yrs. keep your chin up life will work out.... you can find someone with uderstanding and love for you!!!! It is quite possible that you will NOT get it so please don't be afraid.  Also, coming into contact with semen does not have anything to do with transmission.  Herpes is transmitted by skin to skin contact and as your regular skin has a protective shield on it, is most often transmitted to the soft mucous membranes of your body such as genital and lip area.

On a STD dating site " www.STDpal.com ", they list a special dating tip category named "STD dating tip". Most of the tips are posted by the exiting users. And the user who post one tip can get one month gold membership. It is very attractive.
