If i have an outbreak and my partner gives me oral sex can they get herpes and if so would it be cold sores or genital herpes

Yes they can. A person who has herpes simplex virus 2(genital herpes) can give someone herpes simplex virus 1(oral herpes) if that person goes down on them. It would not be a cold sore, it would be herpes. Most cold sores that appear on the lips are herpes. Even if you don't have an outbreak you could still give it to your partner.
