I've been having unprotected sex with my boyfriend and I recently contracted an "infection" with symptoms similair to that of genital herpies. He gets check up every 6 months and after telling him he might have gotten an std, he went and got retested but all the results came back negative, including neg for herpes. I'm afraid to go get tested as i still live with my parents and I'm a what could be described as a late bloomer in terms of sexual experiences.Accordingly it was said that you could get an infection like this by having reinserting the member without wiping it off. But if he doesnt have it, could it be possible that I got something other than herpes?

There are two types of HSV, HSV type 1 and 2, and both can cause genital herpes.
