Both have HSV2 - Can we get it orally as well?

Both my partner and I have genital herpes. Once HSV-2 has infected one part of the body, is it possible to also infect orally, or is it the case that once you have it your body will fight it off in other areas?

If you have a cold sore and put your mouth on your partner's genitals (oral sex), your partner can be infected with genital herpes. Consequently, oral sex should definitely be avoided if one partner has a facial herpes attack.

I suggest you can go to a herpes support community to ask more tips to manage it successfully. Most of the couples here can deal with it easily now

I have this and I never had sex with someone orally, it just happened after I was diagnosed with the genital herpes. So yes, you can get oral hsv2 even if you never had oral sex with a partner!
