Hi and thanks for writing. My name is MK and I am the producer for this site.
The question you ask is pertinent not only to herpes, but to so many things in our world: other diseases (as you mentioned), other cultures, other religions.
In my experience, the more you know about something- or the better you understand it, the less afraid you are of that something.
Hopefully, by providing information about herpes and other STDs on this site, we can educate people and help to erase the stigmas associated with STDs.
