If you results are postive, your partner needs to be tested. If your partner's results are negative, there is no 100% effective way of not transferring the virus. However, you can reduce the odds by taking an antiviral drug and using a condom. Please read these websites and make sure your uninfected partner is aware that even taking these precautions the risk of transferring the virus even without any symptoms is always there: http://consults.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/06/18/giving-your-partner-herpes/ and http://www.cdc.gov/std/herpes/STDFact-herpes.htm.
