Q: I was just told I have Herpes 1 and 2 but i have never had a cold sore or any warts or sores on my Vagina. Is it possible that the results can be wrong?

Check out this website: This website may help you: http://consults.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/08/27/getting-tested-for-herpes/. I would get tested again.

If you have both viruses, good you don't have outbreaks. I have terrible ones. The person who infected me had HSV-1 and 2 without any symptoms.

Note the following, from this website (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention)

http://www.cdc.gov/std/herpes/STDFact-herpes.htm:

HSV-1 and HSV-2 can be found in and released from the sores that the viruses cause, but they also are released between outbreaks from skin that does not appear to have a sore. Generally, a person can only get HSV-2 infection during sexual contact with someone who has a genital HSV-2 infection. Transmission can occur from an infected partner who does not have a visible sore and may not know that he or she is infected.

According to an article in the New York Times, http://consults.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/06/18/giving-your-partner-herpes/, a condom alone is roughly 30% effective. Antiviral drugs alone are roughly 49% effective. I read somewhere that roughly 30% of all uninfected partners eventually become infected with the herpes virus. Note, skin-to-skin contact without sexual intercouse in the buttocks and/or thighs can transfer the virus to another person. When shedding, herpes is very contagious.

Most people with genital herpes have no noticeable symptoms and do not realize they have come into contact with the virus. They may only notice symptoms at a later date. For others, the first symptoms of genital herpes may show up 2 to 21 days after coming into contact with the virus.

However, the best thing you can do is to stay healthy. The healthier we keep ourselves, including staying generally healthy, eating well, getting enough sleep, and managing the stress in life, the stronger our immune systems, and the less likely we are to have a herpes episode. Make sure you get a healthy dose of vitamins and minerals. Supplement like H-Boost Herbal Immune Booster is good to take because it is a blend of 8 active ingredients concentrated from natural organic sources that have each been clinically proven to increase the body's immune response to the herpes virus. It can be used as a suppressive treatment, or when herpes outbreaks may occur.  May be used alone or in conjuncton with HSV-Zero topical antiviral.
