Well the asshole that I was dating didn't have any signs or symptoms either. He ended up going in for a check up, and he tested positive for genital herpes. Well he didn't mention that to me, so we did have unprotected sex. A couple of weeks later I started to feel really sick so then he decided once it was to late to tell me that he was tested positive. Well I went to my doctor and I too tested positive. So the answer to you question is yes you can get herpes even though your partner had no symptoms...it happened to me.
