I have had 2 children naturally. They make me start taking the Valtrex @ 36 weeks. As long as u don't have an outbreak during labor u should b able to have the vaginal. Both of my children are ok and do not have it.

THANKS FOR THAT ANSWER. SO ARE THE MEDS SUPPRESSING IT AND MAKING IT LESS TRANSMITTABLE?   IF YOU ARE NOT PHYSICALLY FEELING OR SEEING AN OUTBREAK THERE'S A CHANCE OF VIRAL SHEDDING WHICH IS NOT NOTICABLE SO DOES THE MEDS ALSO CONTROL THE SHEDDING AS WELL SO THAT THE SHEDDING DOESNT GIVE THE DISEASE TO THE BABY BECAUSE I'VE BEEN READING THAT YOU CAN PASS IT DURING VIRAL SHEDDING WHENYOU ARE NOT HAVING AN OUTBREAK.

Well I don't know about all that. It must suppresse it because the doctor told me as long as there was no outbreak than the baby would b fine. But I guess like anything else there is probably always a small chance of them getting it.

There are two types of HSV, HSV type 1 and 2, and both can cause genital herpes.
