Q: I have genital HSV1. My boyfriend has neither HSV1 or 2. If he repeatedly uses his finger to transfer saliva from his mouth to my genitals for lubrication, is he at risk of contacting HSV1 orally?
Yes, he could if you are shedding (with or without visible signs of an outbreak). The virus doesn't live very long outside of body fluids but in thiis case it could happen. Might want to purchase bottle lubricant at an adult store and use that instead.
