Q: Could I have had gential herpes, been tested for it, and not known until recently?

I was just diagnosed with genital herpes and am floored.  My exhusband of 13 years had it and while we were married we did all we could to prevent it's spread.  I have had two other sexual partners since then, and I don't believe either of them had it and knowingly passed it on to me, and those relationships are now several years over.   I have never had any noticable or questionable symptoms of it and have been tested for it several times over the past years.   I'm confused as to how it could just now be showing up on a blood test?  Is that even possible???

usually once you test postive your positive. Its possible the tests that u took before were wrong. Mabye you never had symtems all of this time either. What i would do is please let your other partners of a few years ago to be tested. Cause you can spread it even if u dont have symtems or even know if u have it. I think thats how i got it

My doctor told me that the new blood test is very accurate, and that the older tests had a LOT of false negatives.  Hope this helps.
