Sores that burn on the top of vagina

... and it stings whenever i wipe or wash. its worrying me.. I have had one partner in the last 3 years, however i did see an old flame.. but i did not have sex with him but he did touch me.. what does this mean? could he have given me herpes from touching me down there? Like I said, only one partner in 3 years. Did see someone else, but did not have sexual contact with him at all.. he did touch me down there though... can I have gotten herpes from him?
