Q: how long is the period called "latency"?

how long is latency in casses of dorment herpies? could it be 20 years,what are symptons in women 47yrs.? home remidies?

Hi Webster,

 

As you correctly suggest, latency refers to fact that the virus exists but it isn't manifest in the sense of an outbreak. This latency period can vary hugely between people. Some people get regular outbreaks and some may only get one or two in the whole of their life. There is some association between outbreaks as a result of stress, possibly fever or strong sunlight.
