Q: Does herpes have other side effects?

I do not get my monthly menstrual periods. I have not gotten it since january of this year and when I DID get it it lasted me 14 days! Would me having herpes be a reason as to why I don't get it? Or could it be something else?

Hi Brooklyn,

Befor i got diagnosed for genital herpes i went to the doctor for alot of other symptoms: lymphnodes swollen, sore throte, pain urinating and i also thoght i had hemroids. I'v read that all but the sore throte are common symptoms. but I don't remember unusual menstral cycle as one of them. From past experience i know my period is messed up when im realy stressed.

sorry i cant help more.

I have genital herpes, and No, your menstrual cycle will not be affected by the virus.  However, stress, being run down and the onset of a period can bring on an outbreak of Herpes.

Hope this helps and good luck.
