Q: Can I have a false negative herpes blood test

I had a blood test in March for herpes that came out negative. My Dr. tested three ways and said that I had 0 antibodies in my blood. A week ago, I developed vaginal lesions, which I went back to the Dr. and we did a swab of them. I expect the results back on Friday. I also had a bladder infection and yeast infection, which could have caused the sores as well. My Dr. told me that I did not have herpes in March, so if it came back positive I got it from my bfriend. He claims he doesn't have it, but has also never been tested. What are the chances that I could have had a false negative blood test?
