My partner ask me to get Acyclovir for him from my doctor I ask what is it?
He feels I would leave him if he told me the truth.
Hi Saralee,
I see several important issues in your question. First is the fact that your partner is asking you to get him medication from your doctor. That makes me wonder why he will not go to a doctor himself. Is he asking you to lie and say the meds. are for yourself? Just about no Physician anywhere will prescribe medication for a patient they have not examined, that is not legal or ethical.
My second thought was I wonder if he's trying to tell you something by asking you to get this specific medication for him. I assume he knows you could google the name or ask someone on the internet (like you just did) and find out what it is and what it is for. Maybe he wants to know where you stand but is afraid to come right out and ask.
Thirdly, is he right...will you leave him if he has an STD like herpes or something else? If he does have herpes, for example, you need to know all the facts about it so you can make an informed decision about whether you can live with someone who has it. The same would be true for any other STD.
Finally, you can read about Acyclovir on this site!
