If thew test was done 20 years ago I would probably re-confirm. I do marvel at the fact that your spouse does not have herpes (I assume you did IgG and IgM tests). It would be unusual thoug if you practiced safe sex with a condom I suppose you could have achieved protection adequately, especially without active recurrences with lesions. I guess my professional comment would be "wow."
