Q: recently my mother-in-law 60 years old widower since 8 years was diagnosed for herpes. She takes care of our children aged 6 & 4 years since we donot have any other members of the family to take care

of our children ( as both myself & my wife are working). Will this effect my kids and i am very concerned. We haven't let my kids interact with my MIL since she was diagnosed about a week back. Can my kids get infected? i am really very concerned as my wife feel there is nothing wrong with her mother.

NO, your kids can't get herpes. If it is oral herpes, tell her not to kiss the kids especially if she has an outbreak. Hugging them is fine. If it's genital herpes, there is NO reason for any concern.
