Q: Herpes?

So I just went to the gyno last week for a pap smear and I told her I've been having some pain while sitting down and I had been needing to go to the bathroom alot and it would hurt when I wiped. Also I itch down there. I have no rash or anything. Except inside my vagina a feels bumpy. But it doesn't hurt when I touch it. It just hurt for 3 days to sit down then it stopped hurting. So the doctor took a pap smear. Didn't notice anything unsual. I would think she'd see the bumps if it feels bumpy. I can't really see in there good. So she took a culture and it came back as a yeast infection. So I went and got monistat. But now the medicine is all gone. and I'm still itchy. It just itches every now and then its not like an urge. Just bugs me at night. What is it? Still a yeast infection or is it something else??

  • Here were my symptoms in order:
  • Hurt to sit down. Was painful. lasted 4 days
  • had a white cheese like discharge and it smelled like yeast
  • Then I got *bumps* on the inside of my vagina... at least i think they are bumps. They don't hurt they just itch.
  • * were present at the time of the doctor appoinment
  • Went on monistat and the itching is still present.

I know you can't diagnose it for me. But was the doctor wrong about the yeast infection? Or what do you think it is? Or could the bumps just be swelling that just appear like bumps to me??

Thanks!

i can't really comment about the "bumpy part' but many women get "resistant yeast infections' which can require oral medications as well as the vaginal over the counter preparations so it sounds like you need to contact the doctor and tell him (her) that the yeast infection did not respond and get  treated a second time.  It's quite common these days.
