I have alway heard that lambskin is much less effective at protecting the person from STD's because viruses are so small they can penetrate the lambskin barrier - but not latex. In an article called "ALTERNATIVES IN INTIMACY Sexual Intimacy for People with Herpes" Co-authored by Dr. H, Medical Director and Sally G, M.S.W.
dated December 1, 2006,
they state that lambskin should not be utilized to protect against herpes or hiv.
