Q: IS THERE A SUCH THING AS HERPIS 1 ON THE GENITALS?

I've known since 2005 that i was exposed to the herpis simplex and never that i can remember had an outbreak (since they do say that you can mistaken it for something else.) I've been with my boyfriend for 2 years since 2006 and i never told him (i was to ashamed) i also really think there was anything to worry about! i never looked into it! I really had no idea what it was all about! Nyway to make a long story short just this past week i had my tooth extracted 3 days later i got a cols sore on my lip, i looked it up and sure enough it was herpis! Three days later my boyfriend told me he had like bumps not blisters on the shaft and around the head. i was worried, wondering could i have possibly given him genital herpis! we both went to get tested and i was say about a day afetr getting tested i started to have discharge (white liquidy), itching, pain in my lower abdomen, and lower back, the next day i went to the  gyno did a urine test and a pap, the urine came out positive for a urinary track infection and when she did the pap the dr said she didn't see any blister, lesions or ulcers inside my virgina. The next my test results came in that infact i was exposed to hsv2 but the dr wasn't sure if in fact i was having an outbreak because that test was still pending! could i have passed it to him orally and he passed it back to me on my genitals and if so would that be considered hsv1 or hsv2? what would be  the difference?
