Q: I was diagnosed with HSV 2 , 20 months ago.

I was diagnosed with HSV 2, 20 months ago. Ever since then I have been on suppressive daily thearapy (500 mg Valtrex - daily) to date and have not had any outbreaks besides the inital outbreak 20 months ago.

What are the chances of me passing the HSV 2 onto to someone that gives me oral sex?

A statistic would be beneficial. I do not know if they have the HSV 1 or 2, but most likely they do not per their shared history.

On another note, with these statistics of my past, what is the probability of me passing it onto an uninfected partner if I take my medication daily and use a condom? This question refers to actual intercourse.

Thank you in advance for your help!

you can still pass the HSV2 to somebody even if you have not outbreaks, because i read that sometimes you have outbreaks and you don't know is there(specially men). so if you want to have oral sex you should use condom or not have it at all...I know its hard, but nothing you can change about it...

take care of your partner and yourself...

best wishes!!.
