Accuracy of blood test during early symptoms
I was tricked by a woman to have sex with her with out protection and in that vulnerable moment I didn't think twice and totally trusted her. That was a huge mistake and 4 days after sexual contact I started some STD symptoms. I'm having burning sensation after passing urine and also has constant mild fever. I took a full STD test on the 6th day of exposure and after 2 days I got the results saying all tests are negative. I'm still worried because I read some where the herpes antibodies take 12-16 weeks to develop and if you test early you will get a false negative. Is that true even if you have some symptoms of herpes? I am safe? I also have a doubt that she is spreading the disease intentionally for some person reason. If its true, how can we stop her from spoiling other innocent peoples life?
You may have it, you may not. You are correct that early testing may not reveal an infection. It is best to wait for the results of a later test, and be very careful sexually in the meantime. Just remember, if you've got it, you've got it, and though it is quite unfortunate, it isn't the end of the world. Life, shall we say, must go on. It may be best not to jump to conclusions regarding the woman that you think may have given it to you. If she has it, she may not even know it. A large percentage of people with genital herpes show little or no sign of symptoms like burning urination, blisters, tenderness, itching, etc.
If it turns out that you're positive, you've got to deal with that in a responsible way. Life will be slightly different for you, but you have a choice in how you choose to handle your future "girlfriends", keeping their safety in mind. If you really think this woman could be maliciously spreading an STD, I would report it to the cops and let them handle it...that's what we pay them for. Either way, if you wind up being positive, you need to tell her that she has herpes and has given it to you. It may be telling to observe her reaction.
Again, I feel for you... casual sex will likely not be the same for you if you have herpes. There are websites that bring those with herpes together...remember, on average, 1 in 5 people are infected with genital herpes. That's a lot of people. If there is a bright side you should keep in mind, you could consider yourself lucky that she was not infected with a much more insidious pathogen like HIV.
