Q: Is there a "herpes like" breakout that pregnant women get, when they don't have it?

My wife is pregnant.  She developed lesions.  When she went to her OB, her OB got worried, so we both got tested for Herpes.  My results are negative.  She said her doctor told her she was negative and that there is a "Herpes like" breakout that pregnant women experience.  Is this true?

I have not heard of that and i would have asked for a specific "name and clarification" of the condition that the OB was referring to so that you could do some more research.  I keep asking people who submit question regarding herpes and diagnosis if the "tests" they had were the IgG and IgM - which i would consider to be the state of the art current tests with the least "false positives or negatives."  Were those the tests used?  do either of you have reason to suspect that you have herpes?

I'd call your OB and go over these questions and get a "specific diagnosis."
