herpes vs shingles?

I am married and VERY faithful to my husband, and my husband has never cheated on me, we have a strong marrige. we have been together for three years. we have no history of cold soars, and i'm positive that he has been faithful because he had broken his back months ago....anyway...is it possible to have had herpes from an ex three years ago and it just turn up now?

Two days ago I started to feel pain and sensitivity on my skin in my lower pelvic area. I'm not sure the term but very close to the "lip" of my genitals.  The muscles hurt and it was very painful. yesterday i got home from work and I found bumps on the skin. like little blisters. Then the area swelled and now is very painfull to the touch. It dose not hurt to urinate, or bathe, and i have no vaginal distarge. That "spot" just hurts. I have tried to get to my doctor but he has no open apts for over a week and I'd like some advice "now" I'm kinda freaking out. What is the difference between herpes and shingles? The bumps do not look like a "crater" or cold soar.

I have had shingles in the past ( at 13 years old) both my grandmothers, as well as my grandfather and my dad have had shingles, granfathers being the most severe. Can you get shingles there...?
