Q: When herpes is dormant in your body and there is no sign off symptoms or outbreaks, can you still pass the virus on?

I have HSV-1 and it has made me so worried and feeling like a freak. An outcast, and scared to tell anyone I have it. My brother is the only one that knows right now. The virus dormant in me I believe, but just had an outbreak. The cold sores are a pain in the ass because they spread so easily, I have always had a clear complextion. Now around my mouth I have red spots as to were the cold soar was. I use abreva but what can I use to help heal the skin?
