Q: Do pediatricians test kids for HSV and if so should I have her tested?

I was just diagnosed with HSV-2 and I was shocked and worried about my 3 year old daughter. I used to take baths with her all the time. She would always want me to get in with her because she was scared or I would get in when I'm washing her hair. Also, I used to kiss her on the lips. Now I'm afraid to even let her touch me because I don't want her to be infected. Do pediatricians test kids for HSV and if so should I have her tested? And should I be afraid to kiss her?

Please relax, wash your hands, give your daughter a big cuddle and a kiss on the check, and tell her you love her.

HSV2 can only be caught through sex and needles. But I will not say for certain, when you have a outbreak havung a bath her, as soon as you feel a few lumps get to the doctor and get the dry ice applied straight away. Always use a bacterial hand wash, after using he toilet. This will keep your mind at peace. If you cut yourself, tell her mummy has to get her own band aids as mummys blood is not good at the moment, she will  ask, when will it be good, just say soon. She will be happy with that.

I also have a daughter, when she wants a bath, I clean it first. HSV2 can not live of the body, butI  will not take the chance, I will bath 2-3 aday, this is a pain killer treatment I have to do, so you can see why I clean it first whether I have a break out or not.

I do not beleive they will test her, as she is to young, and having a bath with her is not enough reason for them to do so. They would warn you against it, from here on.

So do I, but you can still play, wash her hair, but on the side of the bath now.

Enjoy her love,
