I am male. Been exposed to herpes. tested poss. Never a lesion-can I infect a woman sexualy

After finding out I had been sexually active with a woman that had herpes, I went to my physician for testing-was poss. for both. I told him I had never had any sores,lesions,etc. He told me I absolutely could not transmit this to another person without sores. I see all this info on tv about…
