My sexpartner has HVS2, how long will it take for my blood test to show accurate results?

What is a lap time, before the blood test will show positive/negative for sure? Right now I know I am negative, but how long should I take before retesting again? Thanks.

Unfortunately even the best tests we have are not 100% diagnostic in terms of nailing herpes everytime and with that being said - it can take awhile for the best tests to be repeated and ultimately come up with a definitive positive result.  This is one area of medicine where we still need to make great strides in both diagnosis and treatment of disease.  I would venture to say that in another 6 months you can test again and then depending on the result get the opinion of your doctor based on your history of exposure and other variables as to when to possibly test again.

There are two types of HSV, HSV type 1 and 2, and both can cause genital herpes.
