Q: Can high levels of varicella antibodys give false positive results for HVS2?

My boyfriend had chickenpox when he was a child. Last year when he got his blood work done it showed 2.4H for varicella antibodies. The doctor was surprised to see such highs. Later on this year he had an outbreak on his penis and was automatically diagnosed with HVS2. Can varicella cause false posititve test results? I know that varicella belongs to herpes class and can also cause shingles, but is it HVS? when i researched it it said that when people have an outbreak it's often confused with HVS2.

Is this posible how can we know for sure? Is there tests to be done? If this is the case does he have to take valtrex for the rest of his life still? Confused, and hopeful. Thank you so much to who ever response.

FYI: he had blood test done after his outbreak and showed possitive for HVS2.
