Q: Genital Herpes Type 1: I am so confused. Not entirely sure how or when I contracted it, but now ....

When initially diagnosed w/genital herpes, and while waiting for the results, I assumed I had Type 2.  Now the results come back, and I have Type 1. So....

can I transmit it asymptomatically through oral sex?  My understanding is, while I can transmit it through intercourse, the chances of my partner contracting it are reduced.  True statement?  What about kissing?

I have NEVER, EVER had a cold sore in my life...chickenpox as a child, and mono in my 20s....30 years later, and now this.....
