Q: Self infection of hs2 from hsv1

Is it possible to infect yourself with hsv2 if you already have hsv1 and during a severe outbreak of hsv1 (huge ulcers on top and bottom lip and nasal area) by way of using bath towels and inadvertently toweling infected areas (mouth area) and almost immediately toweling genital area or by accidently using same piece of toilet paper to dab ulcer on my lip then to wipe my backside after bowel movement. Your answer will be appreciated. Thanks.

Well, first it wouldn't be HSV 2. If you have HSV 1, it can be transmitted to the genitals, but it would be HSV 1 of the genitals. It is possible to transmit the virus to other places of the body, but I *THINK* it is a rare occurrence. I would just be careful when you have a cold sore and use a seperate towel to wipe off your face.

I have HIV and I am an engineer who works for the largest STD dating and support site STDslove. com. I have to tell you a secret, you can choose not to believe me. But the truth is that this site has more than 1,880,000 members and about 80% members are good looking in my estimation.

Unfortunately, STD rates soar worldwide and most people with STDs don't even know that they have them. The government should grant more money for STD education to lower the rates of STD transmission.
