Q: If my partner has HSV-1 genital (not HSV-2) how likely will I contract genital HSV-1? (see below)

likely if you are not using a condom, especially if he's having an outbreak. You won't get it just because you now have cold sores. Your genital area will have to come in contact with the virus in order for you to get HSV 1 or HSV 2.
