Q: I have HSV 1 genitally. What is the percentage likelihood of passing it to my partner through oral?

My partner is HSV negative.  I am on Valtrex but would be curious re: the risk level both on and off suppressants.  I do not have HSV 1 orally, at least not that I've ever known.  The genital HSV 1 was confirmed via swab and blood test.

I am pretty strict when it comes to safe sex these days and NOT exposing people to viruses they don't have - even if it means sacrificing pleasure at the expense of safety.  though you say you have no evidence of HSV1 orally - I'm not sure you can definitively assume that so i would hesitate to recommend oral sex on your non HSV1 partner.  Other experts might feel differently and though you are on Valtrex - I'd still offer the same answer.  I'd also recommend staying on it for the safety of your partner and to control symptoms -
