Q: Caught herpes from my boyfriend but he tested negative?! Help!

Hi, I have just been diagnosed with genital herpes. I've only just started seeing someone (we've only slept together once) so obviously I was pretty shocked and upset. Even worse when I told the guy he was adamant it didn't come from him. He said he'd been tested and he'd never shown any signs of it before. I asked him to get tested and he did but the results came back negative. I don't understand this as I had a breakout 5 days after we slept together which leads me to believe I got it from him. I've only slept with 2 other people apart from him, both long term relationships and never had any problems until now yet he's insisting it's one of my ex's. He just won't let it go and now I look like the bad guy! I don't know what to do!

He may have been recently infected and the herpes may not be showing up yet. It took several months before I tested positive with herpes from the intial infection. Did you see his test results to verify that he is being honest? The person who infected me initially denied having any STDs but came clean after I wasn't buying it.

I had the exact same experience. I got it immediately from a new lover who had no indication of having Herpes. I got it, (even had a herpe in my throat) when I went to him with the accusation, he got tested and it came back neg. THERE was absolutely no other way I could have gotten it. Also gyno said it was NOT in my blood meaning it was from a very recent encounter. So imagine how shocking when his results were neg. (I have them) Crazy business!!!
