Q: Can herpes outbreaks be misdiagnosed as a yeast infection?

A number of times, right after we have sex, my wife will get what she thinks is a yeast infection. She takes medicine and drinks cranberry juice and eventually it clears up. I think it may be a herpes outbreak. Is there a daily med that can be taken to stop this or is it more probable that it is a yeast infection?
