Q: Can you get herpes from having oral sex with someone who has genital herpes??

I don't have herpes; I know nothing about it, just what I've been reading on the internet.  I had oral sex and was told only after the fact that he has genital herpes; is it possible that I could have contracted the virus???

Yes its possible u could get it. Do not give that person oral sex again if u know for sure that person has herpes. Now which type of herpes did he/she have?Type 1 or 2? If its type 2 on the genitals its possible u may get it if they were having an outbreak. If they only have type 1 & u get type 1 herpes thats not to big of deal. Alot of people have type 1 herpes on there mouth & they dont even know it. I had type 1 on my mouth for im not even sure how long. Ive never had an outbreak either. So trust me u will know if u get or have an outbreak. Your muscles are going to hurt. It will feel like you have the flue but with no temperature. Your lymph nodes will be swollen. It will feel like your iron is now but in all actualality its your immune system fighting it off.
