I don't think you can give someone HSV-2 orally unless you have oral HSV-2. What I mean is this: HSV-2 CAN be transmitted orally, but only from someone's genitals to someone's mouth... not the other way around, unless you already have one of those cases of oral HSV-2. If you have classic genital herpes (HSV-2), you can't give it to him unless there's sexual contact in your genitals.
If you have HSV-1, it's possible to give him HSV-1 on his genitals through oral sex, and HSV-1 on your genitals still counts as "genital herpes." It's just not HSV-2. I'm not sure how easily it can spread if you don't have any cold sores, etc. at the time of the oral sex, but I know it's possible to spread HSV-1 via oral sex.
I'm no authority by any means, and highly recommend asking a qualified medical professional before proceeding forward.
