Q: i just found out i have herpes and have a outbreak on the my lips. i have a family gathering do i dare go to it and expose my family. should i stay home

Just don't kiss them-- they'll be fine. If it's a bad sore, you may wish to ask your doctor for an antiviral prescription such as Acyclovir or Valtrex. It may heal it sooner or prevent more from developing.
